Intended Audience

Hello, my wonderful readers again!
Today, I will be talking about our intended audience for the movie opener.

In other words, if our film opener were expanded into a full-length film, our intended audience would be primarily teenagers or young adults within the age of 16-25, who are actively navigating and experiencing their own loss of friendships. While our film centers on female friendships, the themes of grief and isolation are universal. Thus, although the primary target audience leans towards females, our opener is deliberately shaped to resonate with any viewer who has experienced the loss of someone they truly valued. Our film opener also does not have a target when it comes to income and education. From the ages of 16-25, our audience can be in high school, college, or working. This does not matter as our movie opener focuses simply on connecting with an audience who can relate to the themes we spread across in the opener. As for location, however, this would likely target urban and suburban audiences with access to streaming and social platforms that curate content.

Moreover, as for interests/hobbies, our intended audience is those who seek out character-driven dramas or coming-of-age stories. They are likely viewers who enjoy indie or pop culture or have hobbies in drawing (artsy world). We want our audience to have an empathetic attitude as a person and be enthusiastic in watching stories that make them feel and think. They should value emotional honesty and personal growth, as that is what our movie opener tries to convey.

In addition, our audience should be regular streaming service users and moviegoers. For example, people who constantly do "Netflix and chill," or people who occasionally go to movie theaters with friends to watch a movie together. Since our movie opener is low-budget, we want our audience to be those who consume media on more accessible platforms as well, such as YouTube. Lastly, our film would resonate with subcultures interested in mental health awareness or new adult narratives.

Overall, we are making this film for an audience who feels and overthinks as a person. They watch a movie not just to be entertained, but to be understood, and to see a reflection of their own complex inner world on screen.
