Location Changes

 ¡Ahoy, mates!

I was starting to think you had forgotten about me... just kidding! Today, I will be discussing the location changes that my group ultimately made.

First things first, we initially planned to film in Miami Beach, then switched to filming in Las Olas Beach, and ultimately ended up filming in Hollywood Beach. We originally were going to film in Miami Beach because our beach scene takes place during the sunset; as a result, we would not only be able to capture the beautiful horizon but also the diverse nightlife of Miami in general. Miami is known for its nightlife and vibrant skyscrapers. We wanted to use this diversity as an establishing shot for our movie opener, but we decided that since it was winter break, Miami Beach would be way too crowded. As a result, the next beach that came to mind was Las Olas Beach. In fact, we were heading to Las Olas Beach already in a carpool when my parents made a last-minute decision to drive to Hollywood Beach instead. This decision was made because the traffic to Las Olas Beach was extremely bad, and we did not want to miss the sunset because of traffic. As a result, we ended up going to Hollywood Beach, which was closer and even less crowded, so it was still a win-win situation!

The next location change we had was the classroom/school scene. We were originally going to film our classroom scene in Mrs. Woz's room, as that was what we drew and visualized in our storyboard. However, we realized it would be difficult to film in her room because we only had her class in the morning, and there was no specific time slot we could just go in and film in her room. As a result, we were going to film in Mrs. Iyer's room during study hall. However, her room had no windows, and our scene required windows. Luckily, a lightbulb lit up in my head, and I suggested that we film in Ms. Beruty's class instead. Not only was her class aesthetic and perfect for the theme we were going for, but we also had her as our last class, meaning we could film after school. The rest of the group agreed, and as a result, we did end up filming in Ms. Beruty's classroom after school.
